Traffic Violations
A traffic violation is a written statement representing the breech of a driving law. In most
cases, a traffic ticket is issued by a law enforcement officer who has witnessed the driving
infraction. Traffic violations vary in the financial penalties they incur due to the nature
of the violation.
After a traffic violation is given, the person receiving the ticket has the opportunity to
contest the violation and penalty. Should a person who has received the traffic ticket not
pay the amount stipulated on the ticket, a warrant shall be issued for his/her arrest.
